SUNY Brockport College – Işık University Joint Dual Diploma
Program in Software Engineering
This program is a joint dual diploma program of SUNY (State
University of New York) Brockport College and Işık University.
Students joining in this program pursue half of their
studies at SUNY Brockport and the other half at Işık University. These
students start their studies at Işık University, completing their English
preparation and freshman years at Işık, their sophomore year at Brockport,
their junior year at Işık and finally their senior year at Brockport. This
way they take half of the course at Işık and half at Brockport.
The program consists of 135 credit-hours of course work and
20 working days of industrial training.
The goal of the program is to educate software engineers
which are in high demand in Turkey and in the world. The program is designed
to teach the fundamentals of software engineering as well as to equip
students with practical skills of software development. The program includes
basic sciences courses, humanities and social sciences courses and elective
courses as well.
Students obtain an invaluable education in the area of
software engineering as well as in a broader sense by studying their
sophomore and senior years in the Unites States.
Students enrolled in this program have to acquire a
satisfactory level of the English language and have to be in satisfactory
status in their course work in order to continue their studies in the U.S.
